Here’s my suggestions for Trader Joe’s Hostess Gift giving.
I have stopped giving wine as a hostess gift.
In the past, I’d pick out a moderately priced bottle of wine to bring as a hostess gift.
Then, my husband stopped drinking.
That was when I realized how much of our culture revolves around alcohol. (For the record, it is A LOT!)
Now that I don’t bring wine, I find I actually put a lot more thought into what my hostess might really appreciate.
If you have a Trader Joe’s in your area, they have a ton of great hostess gift ideas.

Trader Joe’s Hostess Gift Ideas
Rosemary trees are a wonderful gift for anyone who loves to cook. They can keep the tree in a sunny window during the winter, then, depending upon where they live, they can transplant it outside.
I have a tutorial for How to Force Paperwhites, but they require you plan ahead and start them in late October.
The best part of this gift is Trader Joe’s did the planning ahead for you. These look like they should bloom right around Christmas.
Tell me your hostess wouldn’t love that?
Trader Joe’s also has these gorgeous wax covered Amaryllis bulbs.
Again, this is a gift that should bloom just in time for Christmas.
My friend Krista has started giving good, quality olive oil as a hostess gift.
Olive oil is used in almost all kitchens, and this set from Trader Joe’s is an excellent price at $9.99 for three.
If you bake, adding olive oil to a gift basket along with a loaf of homemade crusty bread would be so thoughtful and appreciated.
Trader Joe’s is also a great place to put together fun gift baskets.
Every season, Trader Joe’s comes out with seasonally flavored granolas.
At Christmas time, pick up gingerbread and pecan praline granola and add some organic coffee and delicious tea.
Put these all in a gift basket for an instant breakfast for your hostess.
This is the basket I put together for a holiday get-together.
Trader Joe’s is selling gorgeous olive wood cutting boards for just $11.99 (the close-up picture I took of just the cutting board was fuzzy – sorry!)
Since the cutting board is the focus of my gift, I then picked up pistachio pomegranate crackers, gingerbread crackers, a soft cheese called fromage pave, and a box of dark chocolate mint stars.
I now have a gift basket that allows my hostess to create a cheese board for an easy dinner or maybe to serve on Christmas Eve.
