The GBG List of 3. Three things I love. Three things I want to share.
Melon Scoop
Have you ever used a melon scoop to make melon balls out of a melon?
My mom used one whenever we had company to make a “fancy” fruit salad.
I use one every time I purchase a melon.
As soon as I get home, I cut the melon in half and use the scoop to make melon balls that I then store in the refrigerator. Having the melon cut into balls makes it really easy to then portion it out into individual containers for lunches. Or, to just pass at the dinner table and I’ve got a quick and easy side.
In the summer, I love to put the container of melon balls in our swim bag along with a pack of toothpicks. The kids can “spear” the fruit with a toothpick for a quick and easy snack.
So here is what is really funny about this. I have been sending the girls to school with cantaloupe melon balls in their lunches.
Do you know their friends have never seen melon balls? One girl actually asked if it came out of the melon that way!
So apparently melon balls are out of fashion, but I promise you it is the easiest way to cut a melon and have it at the ready for snacks, sides, and lunches! Plus, you might get a chuckle out of people’s comments!
Peanut Butter Mixer
Do you purchase 100% natural peanut butter? Then you know the oil separates from the peanut butter and it is a royal pain to try to stir it all up.
Enter the peanut butter mixer.
Y’all, I am not exaggerating when I say this thing is the bomb-diggity!
Simply replace the lid of your peanut butter with the stir lid and crank the handle. PERFECTLY stirred peanut butter every time.
You do need to order the right size for the kind of peanut butter you buy. Since I buy what is on sale, I bought both sizes. That’s how much I love this thing!
Apple Cinnamon
We had our first dip in temperatures this week which meant I brewed my absolute favorite fall flavored tea: Celestial Seasonings Apple Cinnamon Tea.
This tea requires absolutely no sweetener. Which makes it a great go-to drink if you are trying to give up soda or artificially sweetened drinks.
It is just as lovely cold as it is hot.
As of publishing, it is on sale Buy One Get One 50% off.
And believe me when I say you are going to want more than one box.
So tell me, What is on your list of recommends this week?
lau
my husband teases the heck out of me about the melon baller! He never saw one until we were married and thinks it is for “fancy” people…although he uses it now that we have one.
I like that tea, but I love the sleepy time vanilla one. I like to sip that in the evening before bedtime.
Also, local apples have been .99/lb at our grocery store. They taste so good in season!

Lau, I have yet to try the sleepytime vanilla. I’ll put it on my list to give a try. And .99/lb apples is a STEAL. The lowest we are seeing is $1.49/lb. I do so love them this time of year! Thanks for sharing, Andrea
