Have you heard of the service Stitch Fix?
It’s a personal shopping site.
You fill out a style profile, provide them with your sizes, and if you have one, a link to your Pinterest Style board. (Here’s my Pinterest Style Board if you care to look).
Once you’ve completed that information, Stitch Fix “will handpick a selection of five clothing items and accessories unique to your taste, budget and lifestyle. You can buy what you like and return the rest!”
So fun, right????
I’ve always wanted a personal stylist!
But I had a special request. What I wanted to know is: Could Stitch Fix be a source of eco friendly clothing?
Here’s what I wrote in my style profile:
“I look for eco friendly, sustainable and organic clothing. Your company indicated I could get clothing that is made from any of the following: organic cotton, silk, cashmere, linen, wool, or rayon. Please make sure my box has these elements!”
Here’s a video of what they sent me:
As you saw, they sort of sent me clothing that fit my eco friendly requests.
So how did I like what I received?
Skye Dreamcatcher Pendant Necklace $28.00 Thoughts: Nope. Not me.
Sada Eyelet Detail Knit Top $54.00
Thoughts: Not awful. Not what I expected. Said Bohemian to me. I really like classic. Cotton but not organic cotton, so not eco friendly. Gonna send it back.
Peidmont Embroidery Top $54.00
Thoughts: I was so excited to try this one on! I took a close up of the detail. It really is a striking top. However, I wanted it to be a bit longer. I’m 5’9″ so I am on the tall end for some manufacturers. I felt this to be true here.
My girls really want me to keep this top. What do you think?
Ava Floral Print Silk Blouse $88.00
Thoughts: I would have walked by this shirt in the store. But I loved it. It fits awesome. I love how long the back is. Silk is so lightweight. I’m not against wearing it several times in between dry cleaning.
Ruxi Distressed Boyfriend Jeans $98.00
What? Are you telling me you don’t look at your jeans from the back???
Thoughts: The denim is like butter. Soooo soft! But the rise is pretty darn low. If I have pants that are too low, I feel like the men you see with the big beer belly where you wonder “How do their pants stay on?” Here’s a helpful hint: they don’t. You have to keep hiking them up. These were hikers. Bummer because they were really comfy.
Although I feel like most of the items in this box were a total miss (too bohemian, not enough classic basics), I’m requesting another box!
This box was like a first date. I’m intrigued enough to go on a second one.

I reviewed Stitch Fix a while back too. It’s so funny, because the items you didn’t like, I loved, and vice versa. It’s tricky!

I love the Peidmont Embroidery Top! I don’t wear sleeveless, but it is gorgeous. Looks great!
And the Sada Eyelet Detail Knit Top is a top I would wear.
So how does it work? If you keep the items you have to pay that listed price? Yikes? I shop at Target too much I guess. I am spoiled by their prices.
