How to Make Snow Ice Cream with Maple Syrup
It’s another snow day here in Colorado!
If you are looking for a fun and tasty activity to do with the kids, how about making a bowl of snow ice cream with maple syrup?
It is such a fun activity to do with the kids and they are always amazed at how easy it is – and how delicious!
Step 1 is to add a big scoop of snow to a bowl.
I like to hand the kids a big spoon and have them scoop a layer off the very tippy top of our outdoor table.
We’re trying for clean snow, of course!
Step 2 is to quickly stir together the ingredients.
You will need:
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup real maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon real vanilla
- dash of salt
Step 3 is once the ingredients are stirred together, act fast and pour over bowl of snow.
You can see how quickly it will start to melt the ice cream.
Pour a bit of the milk and maple syrup mixture over snow and stir. Then add a bit more and stir. Keep going until you have snow ice cream!
This is how it should look. It tastes just like maple ice cream!
Of course, if you have sprinkles, you can add those to the top!
- Gently heat 1/2 cup milk, 1/4 cup real maple syrup, 1 teaspoon vanilla and a dash of salt.
- Head outside and spoon clean snow into a bowl.
- Return to kitchen and drizzle snow with sweetened milk. Stir. Add more milk mixture, stir. Continue until you have an ice cream-like consistency.
What do you think? Pretty easy, isn’t it? Delicious too!
