Keep harmful fumes away from your family with this non-toxic bathroom cleaner.
Given that the bathroom is one of the germiest rooms in the house, you want to use a non-toxic bathroom cleaner that really works.
I’ve been playing around with different formulas, and this is the one I enjoy the most.
Not only does it get my countertops clean, the sinks and faucets look great too.
Plus, the lavender-lemon smell is quite heavenly!
This DIY calls for water that has been boiled then cooled slightly. This will not only help the ingredients to dissolve properly, it will also kill any possible germs in the water. After all, we don’t need any extra germs in one of the germiest spots in our homes!
My “trick” for the vodka is to ask at the counter for the cheapest small size bottle of vodka. This is for cleaning, not for drinking. So no need to get an expensive brand or large size.
Just one extra note about the vodka. Because of it’s alcohol content, you do want to keep this spray out of the hand of babes. Keep it up high and inaccessible for the little peeps in your life.
Since you are going to be using lemon essential oil, you need to use a Glass Spray Bottle for this recipe.
Lemon essential oil will react with a plastic container, so please make sure you use glass.
I try to buy my vinegar in a glass bottle. Once my vinegar bottles are empty, I save them, wash them out, and use them for my homemade cleaners. All I need to do is add a spray top!
Non-Toxic Bathroom Cleaner
1/2 cup white vinegar
1/2 cup vodka
10 drops lavender essential oil
10 drops lemon essential oil
1 1/2 cups boiled and slightly cooled water
To Make: Add all ingredients to a spray bottle and shake gently to combine.
To Use: Spray surfaces and allow to sit for 10 minutes before wiping off with a clean cloth.
This spray will last 2 months when stored in a cool, dark spot.
Happy Natural Cleaning!
