Air Fry Butternut Squash to get a caramelized outside and a tender inside.
I love when butternut squash comes in season!
My favorite way to prepare butternut squash is to air fry it.
In about 15 minutes, you can have tender pieces of squash with a sweet caramelized outside.
I prefer to buy it precut.
We are pressing the easy button on this recipe, which means skipping the peeling and cutting of hard squash, so look for ready to use squash.
If you can’t find ready to use squash in the produce section of your store, check the frozen section. You can oftentimes find it there.
No need to thaw frozen squash before you air fry it. Simply add 2 to 3 minutes to the cooking time.
How to Air Fry Butternut Squash
Start by adding the squash to a medium-size bowl.
Next, you want to add a bit of olive oil. I prefer to spray mine on, but you could add a drizzle from a bottle.
Next, you are going to want to sprinkle on some kosher salt.
I don’t ever add pepper, but if you are a pepper fan, scatter a bit of that on too.
Use your hands and give everything a quick toss.
Spread the squash out evenly on your air fryer racks.
Here’s a totally terrible picture of my squash in my air fryer. You get the idea.
Fry your squash at 400 for 15 minutes, rotating the trays halfway through the cooking time for the best results.
Enjoy your air fried butternut squash while hot!
Not going to lie, those overcooked crispy semi-black pieces are some of my faves.
I wolf those down first before serving to others. Anyone else like those?
