Non GMO Halloween Candy {All Treat, No Tricks!}

Make sure the Halloween candy you use for trick or treaters is non GMO.

What do you usually hand out at Halloween?

It is possible to hand out treats that you can feel good about. All of the candies listed here are non GMO.

Why Non GMO Halloween Candy?

There is increasing evidence that connects GMOs with health problems, environmental damage and violation of farmers’ and consumers’ rights.

Choose one of these candies to hand out on Halloween night or to give to your own little monsters.

Endangered Species Bug Bites

Who doesn’t like chocolate? The perfect little bite of chocolate, try Bug Bites for a perfect halloween treat! Plus, each Bug Bite chocolate contains 1 of 30 collectable, educational insect trading cards!

Justin’s Peanut Butter Cups

Trash the Reese’s and replace them with Justin’s Peanut Butter Cups. They taste better than the mainstream candy without all the nasty stuff.

Gin Gin Chews

If you need lots of little yummy treats to hand out, check out the Gin Gins Spicy Apple Ginger Candy. There is a lot of cinnamon, apple and ginger goodness in this 2 pound bag. I could eat the whole bag in one sitting, but then I wouldn’t have any for the next day.

YumEarth Lollipops

YumEarth Lollipops are a popular Halloween option since the cost is low for the number of lollipops you receive. Not to mention, they are perfect if you are looking to avoid food dyes!

YumEarth Organic GummyBears

What’s not to love about gummybears? Especially when those gummybears are free of artificial colors, flavors and are Non GMO.

Will you be going Non GMO for Halloween?

Wondering Which Foods to Buy Organic?

Which Foods to Buy Organic

Are you wondering which foods to buy organic?

While not everyone can agree that buying food organically grown is healthier, no one can argue that they don’t contain fewer pesticides, antibiotics and hormones.

By definition, buying food with the USDA organic label means the product was grown free of chemical pesticides and chemical fertilizers, was not treated with antibiotics, and contains no additives. In addition, for a food to be labeled organic, the food can not be genetically modified or irradiated.

Start by buying these 14 produce items organically grown to greatly reduce your exposure to chemical fertilizers and pesticides.

Bell Peppers
Imported Grapes
Red Raspberries

Change to buying these four meat and dairy products organically grown, and you can reduce the number of antibiotics and growth hormones you are exposed to daily.

Finally, if you are purchasing baby food, buying organic protects your baby from harmful pesticides that can interfere with infant development.

The lists aren’t long and you probably don’t buy all of these items every single week. This list is meant to get your started on an organic diet. As your budget allows, it makes sense to make sure the items you buy the most of each week are also purchased organically grown.
