The GBG List of 3: Best Home Decor Daily Deal Sites

List of 3

The GBG List of 3! Three things I love. Three things I want to share.

This List of 3 has everything to do with shopping for the home. The inspiration for this list? My home renovation.

This is the current state of my kitchen:

Kitchen Remodel

I think it more closely resembles a bomb blast than an actual kitchen, don’t you?

I’ve been working really hard to upcycle as much of my kitchen as possible and can’t wait to share all the ways I’ve found to get what I want for less.

However, there are a few things I just haven’t been able to find used.

That’s why today I thought I would share with you my three favorite home decor daily deal sites.

These are the sites I’m pouring through most every day to try to find the best deal on faucets, lighting, and home decor as I can.

wayfair

1. Wayfair If you watch any HGTV, then I know you’ve seen the ads for Wayfair. This site is huge and offers just about everything you want for your home.

My favorite way to shop Wayfair is to browse their magazine shops. Spreads from magazines like This Old House (the picture above), Coastal Living, and Real Simple are featured and then they give you a list of products you can buy at a discount that would give you the same look. It’s totally awesome and completely addictive!

Reclaimed+Grace

2. Joss and Main Joss and Main is free to join and offers insider access to housewares, furniture, décor accents, lifestyle accessories, giftables, and more at prices up to 70% off retail.

Events last only 3 days and consist of collections. For example, today you will find a lighting collection, a garden collection, and a reclaimed grace collection (pictured above).

I recently ordered a triple sconce from Joss and Main that will go in a bathroom. The sconce closely resembles one I found at Pottery Barn – only the Joss and Main sconce saved me $98!!!

3. One Kings Lane One Kings Lane is another home decor daily deal site that works just like Joss and Main.

Be sure to hunt through the Downstairs collection every Sunday. New markdowns make for some irresistible finds! I was able to order some darling new glasses with a bee print for our kitchen for pennies on the dollar.

Do you have a favorite Home Decor Daily Deal Site? I’d love to check it out!

Costco vs. Walmart: Where are the Best Organic Prices?

Costco vs Walmart: Who has the best organic prices on items like milk, eggs, butter, and chicken?

I’m a huge Costco fan. I love their organic selection and find their prices to be worth the membership cost.

But recently, Walmart announced they were going to drive down organic food costs.

I don’t shop Walmart. There is whole backstory there that involves my living in a small town in Texas and Walmart being the only store within a 3 hour radius. Once I moved to where I had more options, I’ve embraced those options.

But, what I learned in those 3 years in Texas, is I can really appreciate those readers who write to me complaining that they simply don’t have many organic options where they live.

Which brings me back to Walmart.

Is Walmart really driving down organic prices?

I strolled the aisles of Walmart noting the organic selection and pricing, then popped over to Costco to do the same.

Where are the best organic prices?

organic prices

The items I compared are items I felt most families purchase regularly.

Great Value is the Walmart brand and Kirkland Signature is the Costco brand. If a store brand was available, I looked at the store brand pricing.

Since you have to purchase larger quantities at Costco, I tried to address that in the pricing I compared.

Walmart pricing is in black, Costco pricing is in red.

MILK

Walmart: Great Value Organic Milk $3.68/half gallon
Costco: Kirkland Signature Organic Milk $3.29/half gallon must buy 3 for an out of pocket cost of $9.89

Walmart: Horizon Organic Chocolate Milk $11.58/12 pack single serve. Comes to $0.96 each
Costco: Kirkland Signature Chocolate Milk $7.94/12 must buy 24 pack at $15.89. Comes to $0.66 each

EGGS

Walmart: Great Value Organic Eggs $4.38/dozen
Costco: Kirkland Signature Organic Eggs $3.50/dozen comes in 2 dozen for an out of pocket expense of $6.99

BUTTER and OIL

Walmart: Horizon Organic Butter $5.08/lb
Costco: Kirkland Signature Organic Butter $3.85/lb must buy 2 pounds of an out of pocket expense of $7.69

Walmart: Spectrum Coconut Oil $6.98/14 oz or $0.50/oz
Costco: Nutiva Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil $21.49/78 oz or just $0.28/oz

 CEREAL

Walmart: Nature’s Path Pumpkin Flax Granola $3.28/11.5 oz box or $0.29 per oz
Costco: Nature’s Path Pumpkin Flax Granola $7.79/35.3 oz box or $0.22 per oz

MAC AND CHEESE

Walmart: Annie’s Organic Shells & Real Aged Cheddar $1.56/box
Costco: Annie’s Organic Shells & Real Aged Cheddar $15.99/15 boxes or $1.06/box

CHICKEN

Walmart: Harvestland Organic Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breasts $5.98/lb
Costco: Coleman Organic Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breasts $5.99/lb

SPINACH

Walmart: Marketside Organic Baby Spinach $4.98/10 oz
Costco: Organic Baby Spinach $3.99/16 oz

As you can clearly see, COSTCO HAS THE BEST ORGANIC PRICES!

The only exception is on boneless, skinless chicken breasts where Walmart is $0.01 cheaper per pound. One. lousy. penny.

If you are looking to feed your family an organic diet but need to stay on a budget, Costco appears to be the clear winner to me.

The GBG List of Three: Three things I love, three things I want to share!

Keds

#1¬†¬†Keds DIY¬†– There has been a pair of¬†Keds¬†sneakers in my¬†¬†wardrobe for as long as I can remember. So I’m truly a fan of these six incredibly easy ways to customize your¬†kicks!

I love us

#2 – Have you checked out the deals on Jane? It’s like a flash sale site for small business artisan and art & crafts sellers. Items like this handmade “I Love Us” pillow are on sale for a limited time. If you are looking for a unique item at a great price, you’ll love cruising this site as much as I do.

fit bit

#3FitBit Just Got Better! I originally told you about my new favorite piece of exercise equipment in this list.

I’m still wearing it. I’m still loving it. Except now I’m loving it a bit more.

The phone app now allows you to scan barcodes from foods to be able to track calories. It also added GPS capabilities so I can now record the distance and routes of my runs.
